Denver police Monday said the vehicle that killed Kathy Hill Young was a Chevrolet van.
Hill Young, the executive director of the Lowry Family Center, had just left a charity event with friends Dec. 5 when she was killed about 11:35 p.m. as she crossed the 3900 block of York Street.
Sonny Jackson, Denver Police Department spokesman, said the vehicle is an older model, Chevrolet conversion van, two-toned, with front-end damage from the impact. It had a ladder on the rear of the passenger side; a stainless steel “continental kit” tire cover on the rear of the driver’s side; tailpipes; metal mirrors; license plates in the center in both the back and front; wide trim around the glass of the slide window; and a roof rack with possibly three pieces of metal.
