FORT WORTH, Texas — American Airlines, the world’s second- biggest carrier, expects travel demand to slow in early 2009 amid the economic recession.
Bookings for the coming holiday period are “fine,” Dan Garton, American’s executive vice president for marketing, said Tuesday in an interview, without providing specifics. Travel beyond early January, particularly in longer-haul international markets, is being affected by declining demand.
