Alex Miller’s 21 points paced Class 4A Golden to a 59-56 upset of 5A Mullen on Tuesday night.
The Demons improved to 3-5 after Miller was 10-of-14 at the free- throw line. As a team, Golden made 24-of-34.
Pat Hart added 11 points for the Demons.
Mullen, which dropped to 1-3, got 21 points from Leilon Willingham and 17 by Uriah Carter but made only 12-of-23 free throws.
Arapahoe 61, Rangeview 48
AURORA — Parker Semin’s game-high 23 points paced the Warriors over the Raiders in a 5A nonleague game.
Drew Babb added 12 points for Arapahoe, which improved to 4-1 and used to face Rangeview (3-5) regularly in the Continental League. The Warriors have shifted back to the Centennial League.
Cherry Creek 61, Abraham Lincoln 50
The 5A Bruins outscored the Lancers, up from 4A after winning consecutive state titles, in every quarter for a nonleague victory.
Cherry Creek (2-2) enjoyed balanced scoring by Terrance Walker (14 points), Ian Gammie (11), Charlie Zeller (10) and junior Kain Colter (nine), who has received an offer from the University of Colorado football team.
Dominic Williams paced the Lancers (3-5) with 15 points.
Green Mountain 59, Douglas County 46
CASTLE ROCK — Despite a 5-of-12 performance at the free-throw line, the Rams moved to 7-0 with a 5A nonleague victory against the Huskies.
Brian Hunt led all scorers with 22 points for Green Mountain. Nick Sleeman added 13 points.
Brenton Hill led Douglas County (1-4) with 15 points.
Girls
Arapahoe 82, Rampart 41
CENTENNIAL — Arapahoe moved to 4-1 in with a 5A nonleague victory. The Warriors’ Amy Barzcuk led all scorers with 22 points. Diana Hentschel added 19.
Rampart was led by Nikki Kinzer’s 10.
East 37, Eaglecrest 34
The Angels used a 13-6 scoring edge in the final quarter to take down the Raptors in a 5A nonleague game.
Cassie Brown (eight points) and Sam Sanders (seven) scored just enough for East (4-3).
Desi Smith led Eaglecrest (2-5) with 11.
Broomfield 69, Silver Creek 35
BROOMFIELD — The Eagles, two-time defending 4A champions, rolled behind seniors Anna Prins and Chaundra Sewell.
Prins, a 6-foot-6 post player , scored 16 and forward Sewell added 15. Sophia Rhodes contributed 13. Top-ranked Broomfield is 5-0.
Silver Creek (1-3) was led by Lauren Wolfinger’s 16 points.
