One of three men who made statements about a plot to kill President-elect Barack Obama pleaded guilty Tuesday to federal weapons and drug charges.

Nathan Dwaine Johnson was charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and possession of a controlled substance. He is scheduled to be sentenced March 20.

Johnson was arrested along with Tharin Robert Gartrell and Shawn Adolf in Aurora the week of the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

A search of Gartrell’s rented truck found a loaded rifle with a scope attached and a bipod. Also recovered were a bolt-action rifle with an attached hunting scope, two boxes of ammunition, a wig, a walkie-talkie and a bulletproof vest. One rifle was threaded for a silencer attachment.

Three backpacks also contained equipment for making methamphetamine.
