The first of three ice fishing tournaments under the Gander Mountain Colorado Classic Ice Fishing series at Elevenmile Reservoir will be Jan. 10. The events will feature two- person teams, and cash prizes are determined by number of entries. Various merchandise prizes also will be awarded.
Other events in the series will be Feb. 7 and March 7. Participants may treat each tournament individually or compete in all three for additional prize money. Each will run from 7 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Expect deer to gather.
Colorado Division of Wildlife officials expect deer, creatures of habit, to gather at feeding sites established during the killer winter of 2007-08. The critters will be disappointed at what they’ll find.
“A feeding operation is only authorized under severe conditions,” said J Wenum, area manager. Unless similar severity develops, not likely considering recent weather cycles, officials will not interfere with natural feeding patterns.
DOW officials also discourage public feeding of any wild animal.
