Horizon High School in Brighton was locked to outsiders for about 20 minutes today while Thornton police investigated a report that someone in the surrounding area had a gun.
“This is part of our usual safety plan,” said Janelle Albertson, Adams 12 Five Star school district spokeswoman.
The lockout started about 2:30 p.m. Police didn’t find anyone with a gun, and the school was reopened.
