Firefighters evacuated nine rooms of a motel that caught on fire early this morning at 11800 E. Colfax Ave.
When firefighters arrived at the King’s Inn Motel at 3:40 a.m., they found one room fully engulfed in flames, said Capt. Allen Robnett, spokesman for the Aurora Fire Department.
Although the motel room that caught fire was rented, no one was in inside the room when firefighters arrived, he said.
No one was hurt, Robnett said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Damage to the motel is estimated at $35,000, he said.
