COLUMBIA, S.C.—Clemson reserve defensive back Sadat Chambers was arrested for driving with a suspended license near his home in Chesterfield County.

School spokesman Tim Bourret (buh-RAY’) said Chambers was arrested Tuesday morning after driving with his high beams on. A routine check found that Chambers’ license had been suspended because he had not paid a previous fine for a seat-belt infraction.

A person at the jail who asked not to be identified said Chambers was released on a public recognizance bond.

Bourret said Clemson coach Dabo Swinney was aware of Chambers’ arrest. The incident was not expected to affect Chambers’ playing against Nebraska in the Gator Bowl on New Year’s Day.
