A man who was working on a front-end loader’s hydraulic system was killed Tuesday morning when a hose came loose and the machine’s forks fell on him.
The victim, a 34-year-old man, hasn’t been identified, said Weld County Undersheriff Margie Martinez.
“The forks came down and trapped him between that and the ground.”
The accident occurred on farmland at County Roads 78 and 154, close to the Logan County line. The dead man was probably the operator of the machine, Martinez said.
“I don’t know if it was his property or he was a hired hand,” she said.
