The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying two men caught on camera stealing more than $7,000 worth of copper wire.

The theft occurred Dec. 17 between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. near Keenesburg.

The victim had been robbed in the past and installed a motion-sensor security camera, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

It showed the men driving up twice and taking 1,100 feet of wire.

The images show an older model yellow Chevrolet pickup with a white topper and lots of rust. The pickup is possibly a late ’70s “Big 10” model.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Weld County Sheriff’s Office at 970-356-4015 or 800-436-9276.
