PUEBLO, Colo.—A 74-year-old man who survived last month’s deadly explosion in Pueblo has been released from the hospital.
Gino Roney says he thought he’d perish in the blast, when his shoes and hair were on fire after the Branch Inn restaurant exploded. Roney was one of seven injured and the last to be released from the hospital; a 22-year-old woman was killed.
Investigators have determined that a natural gas leak from a pipeline under the street caused the explosion on Nov. 14. Roney was the last person pulled from the rubble, four hours after the explosion. He spent 39 days in the hospital and is now recovering at a friend’s home.
