DENVER—Denver police say two 19-year-old men have been arrested on investigation of murder in a Dec. 17 stabbing death.
Police say Mathew Guevara was arrested Friday and Eric Candelaria was arrested Wednesday on investigation of first-degree murder in the death of 40-year-old Jerry Baca.
Authorities responded to a report of a stabbing on Wolff Street at about 7:30 a.m. on Dec. 17. Upon arrival, officers say they located Baca, who was suffering from several “sharp force injuries.” He died at the scene.
The department says an investigation by its homicide unit revealed Baca was involved in an altercation with two men earlier that morning.
Investigators say they’ll submit the case to the Denver district attorney for review and the filing of formal charges.
