OMAHA—Thomas Winslow, Joseph White and Ada JoAnn Taylor were sent to prison after being wrongfully convicted in the 1985 rape and murder of a Beatrice woman, spending nearly 20 years behind bars before being cleared. In the legislative session that begins Jan. 7, state lawmakers are expected to discuss whether these three and others like them should receive compensation from the Nebraska government. JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—Coach Bo Pelini and defensive coordinator Carl Pelini rejoined the Nebraska football team for Sunday’s Gator Bowl practice after attending the funeral for their father. Anthony Pelini, 85, died Tuesday in Ohio after an extended illness. His funeral was Saturday.
