Lucky’s human equivalent is Scott Hamilton, a former figure skater who has a soon-to-be-released book, “The Great Eight: How to Be Happy (Even When You Have Every Reason to Be Miserable).” Describing the road that has taken him from adoptee to 1984 Olympic gold medalist to cancer survivor, Hamilton noted: “I am a short, bald, chemo’d, brain-radiated, surgically repaired, male figure skater of unknown ethnic origin.
