BEIJING — The official Xinhua News Agency says a trial has begun for the chairwoman of the dairy at the heart of China’s tainted-milk scandal.
Xinhua says court proceedings against three other executives of the Sanlu Group Co. also began today in the Shijiazhuang Intermediate People’s Court in northern China.
Milk powder contaminated with the industrial chemical melamine has been blamed for the deaths of at least six children and the sickening of nearly 300,000 others.
