COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Authorities say a rock climber was rescued and airlifted to a hospital after falling about 50 feet into a crevasse in central Garden of the Gods.
Lt. Jeff Sievers of the Colorado Springs Fire Department says the man was rock climbing with a partner when he fell from a rock formation just south of Kissing Camels at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Sievers says the man was rescued by firefighters and airlifted to Penrose Hospital. His name and condition were not released.
Sievers says the man was using ropes, and it’s unclear why he fell.
