BOULDER — Authorities say a 12-year-old boy was airlifted to a hospital with a broken femur after he hit a tree while skiing with his family at Eldora Mountain Resort.
Boulder County Sheriff’s Deputy Joe Menger said the boy was wearing a helmet when he hit the tree Wednesday, but it came off in the crash.
The boy broke his femur and was complaining of chest pains, Menger said. He was airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Aurora.
