EVERGREEN — A man hit from behind as he walked along Evergreen Parkway just before midnight on New Year’s Eve has not been able to tell the Colorado State Patrol anything about the vehicle that hit him.

The unidentified man was walking near Ponderosa Drive at 11:45 p.m. when he was struck, said Colorado State Trooper David Hall. He sustained moderate but not life-threatening injuries, Hall said.

“It could be that the driver was not at fault. It could be that this guy was walking in the road, but we don’t know,” Hall said. “But it’s a crime to leave the scene and fail to render aid. Whoever hit him knows they hit him, and we hope they’ll come forward.”
