LOUISVILLE, Colo.—Residents of Superior will no longer be able to borrow items from the neighboring Louisville library after negotiations about money broke down in October.
The library cards of about 3,300 Superior residents are invalid starting Thursday after decades of depending on the services of the Louisville Public Library. Besides books and movies, some of those services included internet, and a children’s summer reading program.
Superior doesn’t have a library and residents will have to go to Broomfield or Boulder.
Louisville started offering library services to Superior when it was a smaller town. Superior began paying for the services two years ago. The town offered to pay $135,000 a year but Louisville wanted $225,000.
