SPRINGFIELD — The death of a man whose body was found a week after his father’s has been ruled a suicide, Baca County authorities said Friday.
A coroner’s report says Jeff Caylor died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. His body was found Wednesday near the home of his father, Norman Caylor.
Authorities say Norman Caylor was found dead from apparent gunshot wounds Dec. 26 at his home southwest of Springfield, and his death is being investigated as a possible homicide.
Sheriff Steve Salzbrenner said authorities are continuing to investigate whether the deaths were connected. He added it is “premature to reach any conclusions at this point.”
