DENVER—No. 3 Boston beat No. 5 Denver 4-1 Saturday to win the Denver Cup in the Terriers’ first appearance at the annual tournament.

Senior Brandon Yip had a goal and an assist to help lead Boston to the win at Magness Arena.

Boston led 2-0 after the first period. Rhett Rakhshani cut that lead in half when he scored the only goal for Denver at 17:41 of the second period. Yip answered with a goal 1:14 later.

Boston’s Zach Cohen scored the only goal in the third period.

The loss snapped Denver’s eight-game undefeated streak. The Pioneers had been hoping for their third straight win at the tournament.

In the consolation match, Holy Cross beat RPI 4-3 to win third place.
