Antler expert Stan Grebe will be available to score big-game trophies at Bass Pro Shops on Saturday. Grebe’s crew will measure deer and elk from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and moose, pronghorn and sheep from 2:30-4 p.m.

Trophies must exceed the 60-day drying-out period and have been taken by fair chase. Field photos, tags and harvest information should be included.

To register, contact the Denver store, 720-385-3600.

Power up.

The Colorado Division of Wildlife is using small, solar-powered aerator systems to improve oxygen availability at Road Canyon Reservoir in Hinsdale County, a shallow yet productive lake susceptible to winter kill. The agency previously used aerators powered by electricity, but rising costs prompted the shift to solar power.

Equipment and installation cost $80,000; a grant from the federal government paid $57,000 of the cost and Mineral County weighed in with $23,000 in recognition of the boost in tourism provided by the reservoir.

Guidebook available.

The newest edition of the Central Colorado Fishing Guide, featuring the Arkansas and South Platte rivers, their tributaries and neighboring high-country lakes, is available in local fly shops. It also will be available at the Colorado Women Flyfishers booth at The Fly Fishing Show next weekend at the Denver Merchandise Mart.
