DENVER—Denver police are investigating a shooting on Interstate 25 that injured three people, one of them critically.

Police spokesman Sonny Jackson said the shooting followed an argument involving some people near Larimer Square in Denver’s Lower Downtown around 1 a.m. Sunday.

According to police, the people left in two cars and headed northbound on Interstate 25. Then someone in one of the cars allegedly fired into the other vehicle, hitting three young men in their 20s. The driver took the injured men to Denver Health Medical Center, where police were notified.

Police temporarily closed a portion of the highway where the shooting occurred. Jackson said some evidence was found but he declined to say what it was.
