WASHINGTON — Laura Bush has sealed a deal with Scribner to publish her memoir. The publishing house said Monday that the book will provide an intimate account of the first lady’s eight years in the White House and will feature her recollections of personal and historic moments.

The memoir is expected to be out next year. A White House statement on the book deal did not disclose how much President George W. Bush’s wife is being paid for the effort.

She will have a collaborator — still to be determined — to help her meet the 2010 publishing date. The Associated Press
