Westword, the Denver-based alternative weekly newspaper, announced this week three layoffs on its news staff. According to a blog posting on its website, editor Patricia Calhoun said its assistant calendar editor and two staff writers will be let go.
Westword is owned by Village Voice Media, owner of New York’s Village Voice.
