GOLDEN — A banker has received preliminary approval to succeed Faye Griffin as Jefferson County treasurer.
Tim Kauffman was chosen from a half-dozen applicants for the $87,300-a-year post that Griffin will vacate next week when she is sworn in as a county commissioner.
Griffin said she recommended Kauffman to the other two commissioners as her replacement due to his strong financial background and leadership history.
Kauffman currently is vice president of High Plains Bank in Lakewood and held management positions with FirsTier Bank and SunCorp Corporate Credit Union, both in Westminster, and Colorado Credit Union League in Arvada.
Kauffman and his family live in the portion of Westminster that is in Jefferson County.
