The Denver Public Library hopes to rally the city to knit 5,280 warm helmet liners and hats by Jan. 24 for U.S. troops serving abroad. The library’s Fresh City Life program and the Rocky Mountain United Service Organizations will host a knitting marathon at locations all over the city and the state from 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 23 to 6 p.m. on Jan. 24. But if you prefer to work alone, just knit as many hats as you can and deliver them to the Fresh City Life office in the Central Library (Level 1, west entrance) by Jan. 24. Call 720-865-1206 to register.
