A 15-year-old from Fort Collins told police she was sexually assaulted in Rolland Moore Park last night.
The girl told police she was walking in the park about 7 p.m. near the basketball courts when a a man got out of a red car and attacked her from behind.
She did not see the man and couldn’t give a description, Fort Collins police said in a news release.
She told the police the man tied her hands behind her back and gagged her, then assaulted her.
As he fled she saw his back and saw he was wearing a jacket with a black hoodie with the letters “SP” on the back.
Afterward she ran to a nearby sandwich shop for help. Police responded and she was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies.
She was later able to tell police the car was a 1990s or 2000s red car, possibly a Honda or Hyundai with a spoiler or wing on the back. It had standard Colorado license platse with unknown numbers first followed by some combination of letters of DHL or HDL.
Police do not believe the attack on the 15-year-old is related to a report today of an attempted abduction of a 13-year-old.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Keith Maynard at 970-416-2051 or Crime Stoppers of Larimer County at 970-221-6868.
