Getting your player ready...

Avalanche defenseman Adam Foote (triceps) probably will not accompany the team on its upcoming two-game road trip, the team said.

But Foote’s condition is improving, and he could be back by the weekend.

Center/right wing Ian Laperriere (back) is improving as well, but more on his status for the road trip will be known Monday, when the team resumes practice.

Therrien not worried.

Penguins coach Michel Therrien was asked after the game if he is worried about his job, with rumors swirling that a change could be forthcoming because of the team’s disappointing play of late.

“No,” he said.

Therrien added that, “We don’t have the same team” as the one that went to the Stanley Cup Finals. “That’s the thing people don’t understand. But we have to play better defensively. We can’t be giving up four, five goals a game.”

Footnotes.
