CARSON, Calif.—The Los Angeles Galaxy traded the Major League Soccer rights to defender Ty Harden to the Colorado Rapids on Tuesday for a third-round pick in Thursday’s SuperDraft.
Harden, the Galaxy’s top defender in 2007, did not play last year after electing to step away from the game to pursue philanthropic endeavors.
A second-round pick in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft, he appeared in and started a record 24 games as a rookie and played in 2,086 minutes—second-most on the team.
The Galaxy have five picks in the SuperDraft, which will be held in St. Louis.
