Police are searching for two men who entered a Colorado Springs apartment on Monday night and shot three people, authorities say.

Two men were in critical condition today, and the third was in serious but stable condition after the shooting at 7:47 p.m. Monday at 361 Gahart Drive, said Lt. David Whitlock of the Colorado Springs Police Department.

The names of the victims, who were taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital, have not been released pending notification of family members.

The relationship between the suspects and the victims, if any, is unclear, Whitlock said.

“It’s a bit of a mystery right now,” he said. “The next phase is trying to figure out who they are.”

Whitlock said no one has been arrested. A language barrier initially hampered the investigation, he said.

Detectives are trying to find people who knew the victims and the suspects. It also is unclear what motivated the shootings.
