Xcel Energy’s proposed $2.6 million settlement connected to the utility’s overcollection of Windsource fees was presented to an administrative law judge Tuesday.
A decision on the deal will be rendered by Feb. 1. Under the settlement, $1.6 million will be used to lower fees for Windsource subscribers in 2009 and $1 million will go toward the purchase of renewable-energy credits.
Windsource is a program in which Xcel customers voluntarily pay a surcharge to support development of renewable energy.
