Next month’s planned transition to digital television would be delayed until June 12 under legislation introduced by a Democratic congressional leader.
The bill by Sen. Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia, the next chairman of the Commerce Committee, would push back from Feb. 17 the date for major TV stations to stop sending traditional analog signals and begin broadcasting programming exclusively in digital.
