BOULDER — Boulder is making a switch to alternative-fuel vehicles with the hope that most of the city government’s fleet will be hybrids or run on ethanol or biodiesel in the next few years.
Boulder fleet Manager Joe Castro said this year the city’s goal is to ensure that 90 percent of purchased vehicles run on alternative fuels.
Castro said that goal is easier to achieve than in previous years because a spike in gas prices last year prompted manufacturers to provide more alternative-fuel vehicles.
