An abandoned barn burned to the ground today in a fire that an investigator said could have been caused by arson.
No one was hurt in the fire that began at about 1:30 p.m. near 112th Avenue and Brighton Road.
The barn sat on property owned by South Adams County Water and Sanitation District. “There is nothing left of it,” said Kevin Phillips, an investigator with South Adams County Fire Protection District.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and spent another hour making sure it was completely out, Phillips said.
