DENVER—The Colorado Avalanche placed forward Ian Laperriere on their injured reserve list retroactive to Jan. 4 because of a back injury.
To take his place, the team recalled forward Chris Durno of the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League.
Durno leads the Monsters in scoring with 23 points in 39 games. He also leads the team with 10 goals and 13 assists. he was signed by the Avs as a free agent last July.
