Getting your player ready...

Colorado men’s basketball coach Jeff Bzdelik jokes that he prefers not to talk much about Cory Higgins’ amazing run at the free-throw line. The sophomore guard, right, has converted 63 of his past 64 free throws, including 45 straight to set school and Big 12 records before he missed his first attempt at Missouri on Wednesday.

“It’s like when a pitcher has a no-hitter going, you don’t want to say anything,” Bzdelik said.

Colorado (8-8, 0-2 Big 12) plays Texas Tech (10-7, 0-2) tonight in Lubbock.

“Not only is Cory a problem when he has the ball, he’s a problem if you start fouling him — it’s really two points already,” Tech coach Pat Knight said.

Higgins has a current streak of 18 straight.

“He has great technique and a great demeanor,” Bzdelik said.
