DENVER—The Windsor High School band is rehearsing for its appearance in the parade for the inauguration of Barack Obama as president.

The band from the northern Colorado town is one of 56 chosen to perform in Tuesday’s parade. Band members flew to Washington Saturday. Gov. Bill Ritter met with them toay.

Band director Matt Drase says the band has been practicing early in the morning over the past several months. He said on “The Early Show” on CBS that the tornado that hit Windsor in May and caused widespread damage didn’t damage the community’s spirit.

The band raised money for the trip by selling T-shirts and gathering donations.
