U.S. 6 in Clear Creek Canyon reopened this morning after authorities rescued a woman and pulled her pickup from the creek.
Trooper David Hall said that the highway was closed for about two hours after passers-by spotted a pickup truck in the creek at about 8 a.m.
Hall said that troopers pulled a woman from the water and that she appeared to be in fairly good condition.
“She’s not critically injured,” said Hall. “She’s talking and complaining of a leg injury.”
Jacki Kelley, spokeswoman for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, said the accident happened near Tunnel 2. She said a medical helicopter was sent to the scene.
During the woman’s rescue and retrieval of the truck, U.S. 6 was closed between Colorado 93 in Golden and Colorado 119 in Gilpin County.
