EDWARDS — A man was arrested Tuesday on allegations that he drugged and sexually assaulted a woman at a New Year’s Eve party.
The suspect, William McKay, 39, of Denver, is accused of drugging the woman at a party McKay attended with his band and assaulting her.
McKay was being held in the Eagle County Detention Center without bail.
His band, the Bill McKay Band, played at Rick & Kelly’s American Bistro in Edwards. Bill McKay has played with bands throughout Colorado for 20 years, most notably Leftover Salmon.
Authorities offered several tips to ensure such a situation does not happen to you: Always get your own drink, watch it being poured, and never leave your drink unattended.
