The birds aren’t here yet, but the planning has begun.
Mark it down: Feb. 20-22 for the seventh annual High Plains Snow Goose Festival celebrating the return of migrating geese to southeast Colorado.
With headquarters in Lamar, the event features a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, including guided nature and historic tours, a goose hunting workshop and a photography workshop.
The centerpiece will be the comings and goings of the many thousands of snows, most abundant goose in the world.
