PALO ALTO, Calif. — Hewlett-Packard Co. said chief executive Mark Hurd’s compensation was $42.5 million in 2008, an amount that included bonuses from past years.

Hurd received $1.45 million in salary, $5.34 million in bonus, $12.9 million in stock awards and $18.6 million in nonequity incentive-plan compensation, the company said Tuesday in a filing.
