After flirting with a record high temperature Tuesday and falling short, Denver’s weather made the record books today.
Unseasonably warm weather continued around the state today, with Denver’s temperature hitting 71 degrees at 1:28 p.m., setting a new record.
Yesterday’s high temperature in the city topped out at 67 degrees, three short of the record 70 degrees. Today’s previous record high — set in 1950 — is was 70.
Sunny, mild weather should continue in Denver on Thursday, with a forecast high temperature of 65 degrees under mostly sunny skies, the Weather Service said.
Skies should turn mostly cloudy overnight Thursday into Friday as a cold front brings a chance for snow. Friday’s high temperature in the city should be about 43 degrees, and there’s a 30 percent chance for snow after 11 a.m., the Weather Service reports.
