Getting your player ready...
Staying on a raging bull for eight seconds takes a lot of preparation, not to mention courage, and getting away after a ride takes a little more help.
Bull riding is the highlight of every rodeo, and it has been again this year as the PRCA event at the National Western Stock Show continues this week.
From the cowboys preparing mentally and physically to the bullfighters (previously known as clowns) risking their lives to keep the riders safe, it’s no wonder more men aren’t injured in the event.
Last year, J.W. Harris of May, Texas, claimed the PRCA bull riding crown, winning more than $208,000 in 2008 to earn the champion’s belt buckle.
