The University of Wyoming on Wednesday added three football recruits — a Colorado prep standout, a Nebraska lineman and a speedy running back from Texas.
The Cowboys got an oral commitment from Josh Martin, a 6-foot-3, 230-pound defensive end from Aurora’s Cherokee Trail High School. Martin was an all-Centennial League second-team offensive player.
Also committing were Scott Criss, a 6-5, 250-pound offensive lineman from Omaha’s Creighton Prep, and Alvester Alexander, a 5-11, 205-pound running back from C.E. King High School in Houston.
Criss earned Class A first-team all-state honors this past season as a defensive lineman. He had been holding out for a chance to become a Cornhusker, but Nebraska wanted him to walk on.
Penner nets 10th in a row.
The Colorado Eagles defeated the in-state rival Rocky Mountain Rage 3-2 on Wednesday at the Broomfield Event Center.
Eagles goaltender Andrew Penner stopped 28 shots to earn his 10th straight win, the second-longest winning streak in franchise history.
