WOODLAND PARK — Woodland Park residents have been told to boil tap water before using it after crews repaired a broken water line.
City officials said Wednesday that the boil order was a precaution and that no signs of contamination have been found. Officials said the order will be lifted if final tests show no problems.
According to a public notice, the city will tell citizens when the water is safe to drink again. That could take as long as eight days.
The break left about 40 percent of the town’s 6,500 residents without water downtown and in the southeastern part of town.
The city’s school district canceled Wednesday’s after-school activities and today’s classes at all schools.
Woodland Park is about 15 miles northwest of Colorado Springs.
