Niwot-based Crocs Inc. laid off 14 people in a restructuring Thursday.
The employees, about half of them from the Niwot campus, were notified Thursday, said Tia Mattson, spokeswoman for the company that manufactures plastic-resin shoes.
“It was a restructuring,” she said. “We are just reorganizing and right-sizing our business for today.”
The layoffs did not have to do with the economic downturn, she said. The company did not provide any additional details.
The last published account in the fall of 2008 showed the company had more than 500 employees.
In August, the company laid off 75 people nationwide for a restructuring, and in April, it closed a factory in Canada that resulted in the loss of 600 jobs.
