A retirement ceremony was held at the National Western Stock Show today for a 23-year veteran of the Denver Police Department: a 26-year-old Morgan horse.
A police news release called Warrior an “outstanding member” of the force. It detailed Warrior’s career, including parades, rallies and the recent Democratic National Convention. His beat included the 16th Street Mall, parks and bike paths. His honors include “a medal at the police and fire Olympics in Colorado Springs in 1992 for his skill in Western reining,” the release said.
