Denver missed a record high temperature today by the slimmest of margins, but those warm temperatures will be a memory for at least the next week as cooler weather moves in.
Expect snow showers to make their way to the metro area by late morning, with highs in the mid-30s. Friday will be cloudy for most of the day, but any snow that falls isn’t expected to accumulate.
That was a far cry from today, when the mercury reached 67 degrees, just one shy of the record of 68 set in 1981.
On Wednesday, Denver’s high temperature set a record at 71 degrees.
“We almost got two in a row,” said Kyle Fredin, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
The northern and central mountains could see between four to 12 inches of snow from this cold front, which is headed toward Colorado from the north.
The weather weekly outlook brings more seasonal temperatures.
Saturday’s highs should be in the mid-40s, with Sunday calling for high temps from 43 to 49 degrees. Next week should be more of the same.
