The conviction three years ago of a Saudi Arabian man who sexually assaulted and enslaved his housekeeper in Aurora was upheld Thursday by the Colorado Court of Appeals.
Homaidan Al-Turki was convicted in 2006 of false imprisonment, conspiracy, criminal extortion, theft and 12 counts of unlawful sexual contact.
Al-Turki, who was a linguistics doctoral candidate at the University of Colorado at Boulder, was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison.
The 24-year-old victim in the case told investigators that she was forced to cook and clean and was paid less than $2 a day.
She also said she was forced into sex acts.
